Create A Habit Before An Expense
Fitness companies are already advertising, challenging you to “get in shape” for your new year’s resolution. Join our gym. Buy our treadmill. Get 50% off a year’s subscription to an online coach. They’re trying to cash in on the New Year’s resolution game.
You can spend the money, but if you don’t change your habits the treadmill will be an expensive clothes hanger, and the gym and online coach will become a monthly black hole for your hard earned $$.
Before buying a bunch of equipment, start building a few simple habits:
- Go for a walk twice a week in your neighborhood or community park
- Choose healthier eating habits
- Do simple resistance exercises once a week at home
Slowly, add another day or drill until you’ve created a regular routine. You might miss a day, but don’t let that cause you to quit. Start again and keep going.
